Panel 01

Step 1 [🔥 Fire Master]: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). While it warms, generously grease and lightly flour your 10-inch tube pan so the cake slides out effortlessly later. Behold the heat!

Step 2 [👨‍🍳 Head Chef]: Place the dried figs into a sturdy saucepan and cover them with water. Let them gently simmer over a low flame for about 5 minutes until they become wonderfully tender and soft. Watch closely!

Panel 03

Step 3 [🔪 Blade Master]: Drain the softened figs thoroughly, but make sure to reserve exactly 1/2 cup of that flavorful cooking liquid on the side. Now, chop those plump figs into neat 1/4-inch cubes while they are easy to work with. Precision is everything!

Sous Chef

Panel 07

Step 7 [👨‍🍳 Chef]: Add the eggs to your butter-sugar mixture one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition to keep the batter completely smooth. Then, stir in the fragrant vanilla extract. Perfection takes patience!

🔥

Fire Master

Panel 08

Step 8 [🔥 Fire Master]: Gradually alternate adding the dry flour mixture and the buttermilk liquid to your wet ingredients, mixing continuously until just combined. Finally, gently fold in those lovely chopped figs and crunchy walnuts. Fold, do not crush!

Spice Lord

Panel 09

Step 9 [🔥 Fire Master]: Carefully pour the finished batter into your prepared tube pan, smoothing out the top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes. You will know it is ready when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Watch the clock!
