7 panels of culinary adventure

👨‍🍳Step 1 of 7

Chef speaking

👨‍🍳

Chef

Panel 01

Step 1 [🔥 Fire Master]: Gather your grand cauldron and combine the chicken thighs, finely chopped white onion, minced garlic cloves, celery, carrot, ground cinnamon, turmeric, and bay leaves. Pour in the chicken stock alongside 2 cups of hot water. Season generously with salt and black pepper. Ignite the flame to achieve a rolling boil, then reduce the heat, secure the lid, and let it simmer for a noble 40 minutes until the meat is thoroughly cooked and tender.

🧑‍🍳

Sous Chef

Panel 02

Step 2 [🔪 Blade Master]: Carefully extract the bay leaves and cooked chicken thighs from the broth, transferring the meat to a clean platter to cool. Toss your rinsed white rice directly into the pot with another 2 cups of hot water, cover tightly, and let it cook for 10 minutes. While the rice softens, use your hands to meticulously pull the meat from the bones, shredding it into delicate, bite-sized pieces.

Fire Master

Panel 03

Step 3 [🌱 Garden Keeper]: Once the rice is tender, introduce your shredded kale and the pulled chicken back into the main pot. Allow everything to mingle and simmer together for 5 minutes, then pull the vessel entirely off the heat source to rest.

Spice Lord

Panel 04

Step 4 [🎨 Kitchen Artist]: In a separate mixing bowl, vigorously beat the extra-large eggs with the finely grated lemon zest and tangy lemon juice until the mixture transforms into a frothy, uniform gold with zero streaks remaining.

Panel 05

Step 5 [⚖️ Tempering Sage]: Scoop 2 ladles of hot broth from your soup pot into a small cup. Drip this hot liquid into the egg bowl a few spoonfuls at a time while whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from curdling into scrambled bits! Once the mixture is warm and fully tempered, pour it back into the main soup in a thin, continuous stream while continuously whisking the pot to guarantee a silky, velvet texture.

👨‍🍳

Chef

Panel 06

Step 6 [🍯 Flavor Warden]: Return the pot to a low flame, sprinkle in your freshly chopped dill, and cook for another 5 minutes to allow the broth to reach its ideal thickness. If the soup feels too dense, splash in a little more hot water to loosen it up.

🧑‍🍳

Sous Chef

Panel 07🎉 Grand Finale!

Step 7 [👑 Royal Server]: Conduct a final taste test, adjusting the acidity or seasoning to your exact preference. Ladle the steaming creation into warmed serving bowls, finishing each portion with a luxurious, elegant drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil. The Ultimate Lemon Chicken Soup is now ready for the royal feast!
